Why we built it
Becoming a nurse in the US from Korea runs through several separate systems: a state board of nursing, the NCLEX-RN exam, a CGFNS VisaScreen certificate, an employer's immigrant petition at USCIS, the National Visa Center, and an interview at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul. The official information exists, but it is spread across many English-language websites and changes over time. nurseway brings it together in Korean, step by step, and links each fact to the official page it comes from.
Who is behind it
nurseway was started in January 2026 by Kunhee Lee (Founder), based in Cary, North Carolina. It is an independent, self-funded project. You can reach the founder directly at kunhee@nurse-way.com.
What is available today
- Roadmap — the full sequence of steps with official links.
- 9 guides in Korean with English summaries, official sources, and last-verified dates.
- Visa Bulletin — monthly EB-3 cutoff dates that apply to Korea.
- CRNA Schools — accredited nurse anesthesia programs.
- Pay Calculator — paycheck estimates from your own shift schedule.
Principles
- Official sources first. Costs, timelines, and requirements are taken from official sources (USCIS, U.S. Department of State, DOL, NCSBN, state boards of nursing, CGFNS, Pearson VUE) and shown with the date we last checked them. If we cannot verify a number, we leave it out.
- No recruiting, no fees. nurseway does not place candidates, collect resumes, introduce agencies, or take fees or commissions from anyone. We do not recommend, rank, or criticize specific agencies or employers.
- Not legal advice. Our guides are general information. For your own case, consult a licensed U.S. immigration attorney.
- Corrections. If you find an error, email hello@nurse-way.com with the page and the official source, and we will review and update the page.
What we're building next
These are plans, not features that exist today.
- Ask nurseway (planned). We're building a question-and-answer assistant that answers only from nurseway's guides and the official sources they cite, quotes those sources, declines requests for legal advice, and answers in Korean or English. We plan to build it on Anthropic's Claude.
- Accuracy checks (planned). A test set of questions with source-backed answers, used to check the assistant's factual accuracy before and after every change.
- Keeping guides current (ongoing). Re-checking official sources and updating last-verified dates when rules or fees change.
